Binnie is a Scottish artist who studied at Edinburgh University, Paris then Tokyo where he was introduced to contemporary woodblock printmaker, Kenji Seki. Binnie learned the techniques of Japanese printmaking from Seki.

Binnie uses 20 or more blocks for some of his designs.
