Kubo is the most important engraver in Japan. He received his education at Tama University of Fine Arts, Tokyo , Japan , where he studied with Tetsurou Komai. He studied old master engravers in London for three years. Kubo's prints contain intricate detail. Some of his engravings take over six months to complete. His teaching experience includes: Instructor of Solarplate Printmaking, Rajabhat Institute Suan Dusit, Bangkok, Thailand, Instructor of Printmaking, Tama Community College of Fine Arts, Tokyo, Japan, Instructor of Painting and Printmaking, Tokoha College of Fine Arts, Shizuoka, Japan, Instructor of Printmaking, Machida City Museum of Graphic Art, Tokyo, Japan, and others. Kubo has had 30 solo shows and participated in an equal amount of group shows internationally.
