Yoshitoshi Mori was one of the leading early contemporary Japanese printmakers. He studied with Keisuke Serizawa, a living national art treasure who was the master of stencil dying. He broke off from the folk art movement in the early 1960s. His whimsical prints depict rural scenes, Japanese history, Kabuki actors, women, and warriors.
